WWedding To Do List

Wedding budget audit

Hidden wedding expenses to check before you commit.

Most “hidden” expenses are visible in a contract or operational plan once you ask the right question. Audit fees, labor, logistics and final quantities before treating an estimate as complete.

Start with the complete-cost question: what must we pay or provide for this service to work at our date, location, guest count and event length?

Compare the full scope and the working relationship, not only the first number on a quote.

Fees & labor

Check taxes, administrative or service charges, gratuity policy, overtime, setup, teardown, delivery, travel, parking, permits, insurance, security and coat-check or restroom staffing.

Guest-count effects

Look beyond meals to chairs, tables, linens, place settings, stationery, postage, favors, transportation, child meals, vendor meals and accessibility accommodations.

Personal & wedding-week costs

Include alterations, accessories, hair or makeup trials, lodging, welcome events, rehearsal meals, license fees, tips, transport, pet or child care, emergency supplies and next-day returns.

The audit test

For each category, write the optimistic estimate, current quote, signed commitment, amount paid and remaining balance. Anything with only a headline price stays provisional.
